Fundraising
Fundraising plays an essential part in surf lifesaving. North Burleigh's commitment to fundraising is indicated in its involvement in many fundraising activities.
Each year the club participates an annual door knock appeal, and all money raised through Jupiters Summer Surf Girl aids in the expenses of running the club. The escalating costs of surf lifesaving equipment, administration, training, involvement at Branch level, coaching, competition and maintenance of a modern clubhouse with paid staff has made fundraising an increasingly vital aspect of club life.
2011/2012 Jupiters Summer Surf Girl - Samantha Hallett
Preparations for the 2011/2012 Season are starting to heat up and it is set to be one of the biggest years ever!
The Surf Girl has always played at integral part in raising the much needed funds that it takes for us to maintain our operations and continue to keep our beaches safe. But, it is also a rewarding experience and is a great opportunity for the individual to challenge themselves and leave a legacy not only to the Club, but Surf Life Saving and the outer community.
Previous Surf Girls of North Burleigh SLSC, have each brought a passion to the Club that is unprecedented and we were very honoured to have won the 2009/2010 Surf Girl with the Club's amazing Ambassador - Paige Cooper!
And, behind the amazing line of Surf Girls, is a tireless group of Volunteers known as the Fundraising Committee that offer the backbone to the operation of events and assist the Surf Girl every step of the way...
This year we welcome Samantha Hallett as the 2011/2012 Jupiters Summer Surf Girl. Samantha comes from a family that has life saving running through its veins and at a young age, she has showed a maturity beyond her years with her commitment to going beyond the call of duty.
