North Burleigh Junior Sign On Day

If you are thinking of introducing your child to Surf Life Saving, then Nippers is the best place to do it. Nippers are open to children from the age of 5 through to 13 years old.

Surf Life Saving is an amazing activity for growing a child's confidence, knowledge and skills in the beach environment. Not only will your child have fun and meet new friends, they will become part of an iconic organisation that has served the Australian community for over 100 years.

Access from Somerset Drive via Wyangan Gate Entrance
Car Parking - next to pool at the rear of Somerset College

THINGS TO KNOW

• Copy of Birth Certificate required for first time members
• At least one parent must join as a financial member
• Sign-On and Pool Proficiency will be completed on the day (see below for age relevant requirements)
  
• Remember to bring goggles, swimwear & towel
• Junior Swimwear available to purchase on the day
  
• Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card

POOL SWIM PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
Ages Under 6's to 14's

Under 6's - Kick off the Wall with face in water and 30 sec survival float
Under 7's - Torpedo (push off wall) with face in the water and 30 sec survival float
Under 8's - 50m swim freestyle and 1 min survival float
Under 9's - 50m swim freestyle and 1 min survival float
Under 10's - 100m swim freestyle and 1.5 min survival float
Under 11's - 100m swim freestyle and 2 min survival float
Under 12's - 200m swim freestyle and 2 min survival float
Under 13's - 300m swim freestyle and 3 min survival float
Under 14's - 400m swim freestyle under 9 mins and 3 min survival float

Tweed River Festival Paddle Challenge - 24th October 2009

This is one of the Juniors largest fundraisers for the season and we really need people to help cook, serve and assist with water safety. It's a 6am start for set up with competition starting at 9am QLD time. Remember, all volunteers will be awarded points towards the Age Group Volunteer Award.

Head Coach, Chris Wood has been encouraging children to compete or just come along and support their fellow team-mates.

Family Fun Day - 18th October 2009

Sunday 18th October is Family Fun Day. As there is NO NIPPERS on this day due to the running of the Coolangatta Gold, we are running this early season social event instead.

The fun starts at 12.30pm in the park beside the Club. BYO chairs, drinks, salad & rolls. The Junior club will provide the mear, chicken, tents and BBQ.

For new members, this is an excellent opportunity to mix and get to know other club members.
