Hi my name is Chris Woods I'm looking forward to coaching the Nth Burleigh Juniors because I know I can teach, guide and motivate the athletes to enjoy the experiences and skills that I know will make them better athletes and life saving members in the years to come.

Some of the key focus areas as water coach this year will be to improve the athlete,s surf skills, fitness levels, team event,s and attendance to training during the week. In addition to this athletes progress will be monitored by goal setting and self analysis worksheets during the year. Club spirit and moral will also be imbedded in all training and carnival competitions.

The main reason adolescents participate in sport and surf life saving is because they wish to master skills in the surf, to have fun, to get physically fit and for their own self-esteem. Let?s give these athletes the best possible start to a fantastic sport, Surf Life Saving.

• Background in Life Saving: started nippers at age 7 at Surfers Paradise and have been in the surf club movement for 22 years
• Achievements - 7 Australian Surf Medals
• 1st QLD Open Ironman 1998
• Representative Teams : QLD Cyclone Senior Team 1997
