Seahorse
No matter the ability, every child deserves the chance to feel the sand between their toes, the splash of the waves, and the excitement of being part of a surf life saving club
SEAHORSE PROGRAM. EVERYONE BELONGS
Inclusive Fun at the Beach
At North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to enjoy the beach, build confidence in the water, and feel part of our nipper family.
Our Seahorse Nipper Program is designed specifically for children and young people with disabilities who may not be able to participate in a traditional Nippers program. The program provides a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where participants can experience the beach alongside their families, volunteers and the wider surf lifesaving community.

INDIVIDUALISED SUPPORT
What Participants Can Expect
The Seahorse Program focuses on fun, participation and personal achievement, with activities tailored to meet individual needs. Participants have the opportunity to:
-
Learn about beach safety and the surf environment
-
Develop confidence in and around the water
-
Build friendships and social connections
-
Experience the joy of the beach in a supportive setting
-
Be part of a welcoming and inclusive surf club community
Every participant is unique, and our program is designed to reflect that. Sessions are adapted to suit individual abilities and needs, with experienced volunteers providing one-on-one support where required.
Parents and carers are encouraged to participate, helping create a positive experience built on encouragement, connection and shared achievement.
